Great Taste Judge’s Comments:
Pastel de Nata 2025 – ”Visually striking, these cakes have an inviting caramel topping. The pastry is crisp and flaky and combines well with the custard filling, which isn’t over sweet. They are delicious and moreish”.
Blueberry Pastel de Nata 2025 – ”Judges found the custard had a fantastic texture, creamy rich and sweet with that touch of vanilla. The pastry was excellent, crisp throughout, with much lamination and tremendously light and buttery, and judges could detect quality ingredients. The blueberries were plumb and flavoursome. Overall this was a perfect example of its type”.
Raspberry Pastel de Nata 2025 – ”These have lovely layers of puff pastry and a beautiful artisan presentation. The pastry is precise, with great balance between the custard and raspberry. The cook, too, is exact, with a crisp bottom”.
