Great Taste Judge’s Comments:

** 2 Star Raspberry Pastel de Nata 2026 – ”These very pretty little pastel de nata offer delight to the eye. The pastry is deliciously flaky and the raspberries bring a grand sharp balance to the rich creamy custard”.

* 1 Star Pastel de Nata 2026 – ”These tarts are authentically Portuguese tarts with a good caramelisation. The pastry is rolled in the traditional way. It is a good example of a pastel de nata in the UK and the judges all said they would buy it. These deep and flaky pastel de nata have an attractive caramelised top. The flavour is delicately vanilla custard and this contrasts well with the crisp pastry – good and tasty pastel de nata”.

* 1 Star Blueberry Pastel de Nata 2026 – ”Very attractive looking pastel de nata, these have excellent lamination on the pastry that is crisp and golden brown. The blueberries add interest and colour. As we cut in, the custard held it’s own. It is very sweet and creamy, eggy in the right way and pleasing”.
